JLES Group Joins the B-Corp Festival: Reinforcing Our Commitment to Sustainability

On World Environment Day 2024, JLES Group had the privilege of attending the B-Corporation Festival at the inspiring Wellbeing Farm, a certified B-Corp venue. Surrounded by passionate advocates and thought leaders, the event celebrated the power of businesses as forces for good—an ethos that resonates deeply with JLES’ core values.

The festival offered an incredible lineup of activities, including engaging panel interviews, insightful group discussions led by thought leaders like Donald Moore, and an outstanding hospitality experience provided by Celia Gaze MBA. From organic, sustainably sourced meals to thoughtfully curated goody bags, every detail of the event embodied the principles of sustainability. Among the highlights were interactions with the venue’s famous friendly llamas, a unique touch that added charm to the day and emphasised the Wellbeing Farm’s dedication to creating harmony between business and the environment.

The B-Corp Movement and JLES Group

B-Corps are for-profit companies meeting high standards of social and environmental performance. Certification involves a rigorous evaluation of a company’s overall impact on its workers, clients, and the environment. For JLES, this aligns seamlessly with our mission to integrate ethical, sustainable, and responsible practices into every aspect of our operations.

Why does this matter to JLES?

Our core values were all formed with a similar vision in mind: to have a positive impact on everyone we touch. Participating in the B-Corp Festival reinforced our belief that success isn’t just about financial growth; it’s about long-term sustainability and partnerships that reflect these values. As a company that operates in sectors with a tangible environmental impact, events like this inspire us to continue finding innovative ways to improve our footprint and set higher benchmarks for responsible business practices.

The Challenge for Us All

One of the key takeaways from the day was the question posed to all attendees: What are YOU going to do? This challenge resonates beyond the festival and serves as a call to action for businesses everywhere. For JLES, it means reaffirming our commitment to sustainability, pursuing initiatives that drive measurable environmental and social impact, and aligning with like-minded partners to amplify this mission.

We’re excited to incorporate the lessons learned into our future endeavours, building on our dedication to using business as a force for good.
