JLES Group Offsets Operational Carbon Emissions for the Fourth Consecutive Year

As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a positive environmental impact, JLES Group has offset its Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 operational emissions for the fourth consecutive year through Carbon Neutral Britain™.

While offsetting remains an important part of our environmental strategy, it is only one element of a much wider commitment. Our long-term focus is on continually reducing the amount of carbon we produce across our operations through responsible procurement and more sustainable ways of delivering projects.

This approach reflects our ambition to be a sustainable and regenerative business, creating lasting value for our people, clients, communities and the environment.

Supporting Verified Carbon Projects Around the World

Through our carbon offsetting programme, we support a portfolio of independently verified climate projects that deliver measurable carbon reductions while also creating wider environmental and social benefits.

These initiatives include renewable energy generation, forest restoration, biodiversity conservation, and community development projects across the world, alongside UK woodland initiatives that help strengthen local climate action.

One of the UK projects supported through our Woodland Fund contribution is the Marston Vale Forest Creation Project in Bedfordshire.

The project is helping transform a former industrial landscape between Bedford and Milton Keynes through large-scale woodland creation. More than two million trees have already been planted, with an ambition to establish a further five million, increasing tree cover across the region while creating new habitats for wildlife, improving air quality and supporting long-term carbon sequestration. Over its lifetime, the woodland is expected to capture more than 500,000 tonnes of carbon while delivering lasting environmental and community benefits.

Alongside UK initiatives, our contribution also supports a range of internationally verified projects selected by Carbon Neutral Britain. These include:

• A wind power project in Maharashtra, India, generating renewable electricity that displaces fossil fuel generation while supporting employment and sustainable economic development.

• The world's first verified Blue Carbon Mangrove Restoration project in Pakistan, restoring more than 350,000 hectares of mangrove ecosystems, protecting biodiversity and improving local livelihoods.

• Community forest and education programmes in Tanzania, combining large-scale reforestation with investment in schools, employment opportunities and community infrastructure.

• Conservation and reforestation across Colombia's Orinoco River Basin, protecting threatened species while restoring degraded landscapes and supporting sustainable local employment.

Collectively, these projects demonstrate that effective carbon offsetting can generate benefits well beyond carbon reduction, supporting biodiversity, renewable energy, habitat restoration and stronger local communities.

Supporting Our B Corp Journey

Earlier this year, JLES Group proudly became a Certified B Corporation, recognising our commitment to balancing purpose with profit and considering the impact of our decisions on all stakeholders.

Our ongoing investment in carbon reduction and high-quality offsetting directly supports this commitment. It reflects our belief that businesses have an important role to play in addressing environmental challenges while creating positive outcomes for the communities and industries they serve.

As our business continues to grow, we remain committed to continually improving our environmental performance, reducing the emissions we generate year on year, and investing in initiatives that contribute to a more sustainable future.
