The highlight of the evening for JLES was seeing our very own Director, Paul Tomlinson, take to the stage to present the Employer of the Year Award. The award was deservedly won by Wythenshawe Community Housing Group, whose outstanding work in creating an inclusive and supportive workplace truly sets a benchmark for the industry.

Why Supporting Women in Housing Matters

As an organisation operating in the construction and housing sectors, JLES is acutely aware of the gender gap that continues to persist in the industry, currently on 15% of the construction workforce in the UK is made up of women. Initiatives like the Women in Housing Awards are vital in shining a spotlight on the incredible talent and achievements of women in the field, while also encouraging future generations to pursue careers in housing and construction.

There’s still a significant underrepresentation of women in the construction industry.
