UKREiiF 2023: JLES Wrap-up
UKREiiF returned for its second year in 2023, bringing together industry experts and discussing the future of the UK’s real estate and infrastructure sectors.
JLES Group were delighted to be part of the thought-provoking discussions, here are our key takeaways from the event…
• It was a gloriously sunny week in Leeds, contributing to a great atmosphere and a really well organised set-up!
• We attended multiple panels in the pavilions, our favourite discussions took place in the Sustainable Futures Pavilion & Future of Social Value Pavilion.
• As expected, sustainability was a reoccurring conference theme, with the forum highlighting key topics relating to business ESG strategies and the use of SUDs.
• Homes England discussed their new strategy launch which aims to take a broader view on what makes a development successful. The panel revealed plans to judge the success of a development on a wider range of metrics including social value.
• There is a need to create a more diverse & inclusive workforce in the built-environment sector. Initiatives such as Regeneration Brainery are working to change this by educating young people about the sector and the wide range of roles available.
• There was a lot of discussion about the need for collaborations & joint venture opportunities on larger scale projects, and it was encouraging to see so many organisations driving the need for this in order to achieve our shared industry goals.
Thank you to the organisers for an amazing event and to everyone who stopped to chat to our team. We look forward to continuing the discussions with new connections we have made, as we work together to achieve industry goals and implement the ideas discussed at the forum.
