Flambards, Birkenhead, was an occupied residential development where previously unidentified sewer adoption issues had prevented the drainage network from being brought up to an adoptable standard.
Following discussions between Magenta Living and United Utilities, remedial works were identified as being necessary to enable the sewer network to progress towards adoption. JLES was appointed to provide a fully managed solution, removing the burden from the client team and acting as a single point of contact throughout the process.
Working collaboratively with Magenta Living, United Utilities and all relevant stakeholders, JLES planned and delivered the required remedial works under a fixed-fee agreement, providing complete commercial certainty with no unexpected costs.
Given the location of the works within an occupied residential environment, resident communication and welfare formed a key part of the project. Through proactive liaison and careful management, the works were completed safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to the local community.
The project was successfully completed on schedule, allowing the drainage network to achieve the required standard for adoption.

JLES supports housing providers and landowners across the UK in resolving infrastructure issues that can create ongoing maintenance liabilities and resident concerns.
By acting as a single point of contact, we manage stakeholder coordination, resident liaison, construction delivery and adoption progression under one fully managed package.
Our fixed-fee model provides complete cost certainty, helping clients demonstrate value for money while avoiding unexpected project costs.
The result is a simpler, lower-risk route to adoption that protects internal resources and allows organisations to focus on their core responsibilities.
