• Kerb lines installed, and tree pits formed, laying the groundwork for new landscaping.
• Excavation & replacement of the existing sub-base within the carriageway, along with laying of the base course in preparation for the block paving.
• Tree pits were carefully formed to support new tree planting.
• Street lighting columns were relocated to fit the new street design.
• Residential access points were adjusted to align with the updated layout.
• Bollards were installed to enhanced safely and manage traffic flow.
• Footways were constructed, and block paving was laid to ensure a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish to the streetscape.
• Taylor Wimpey selected JLES Central as the specialist contractor to undertake the finishing works to an in-completed residential estate roads on a project in Coventry.
• Over several years, JLES worked closely with Coventry City Council to finalise a suitable Section 38 redesign for a section of the highway at Peugeot Works. After obtaining technical approval, JLES initiated a phased, 4-month programme as the principal contractor to implement the new streetscape design for the estate.
• Extensive engagement with residents was conducted due to the necessity of full road closures, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining resident satisfaction throughout the project.
• All work was completed under a fixed fee agreement, with no additional costs to the client
• JLES negotiated with Coventry City Council to progress via a Deed of Dedication excluding the requirement for a high value bond to be implemented.
