Vistry Group appointed JLES Thames as the Specialist Contractor on this busy main road scheme, which was adjacent to a live construction site and business park.
JLES were instructed to finalise the outstanding Section 278 works, without causing hassle and disruption to the large vehicles regularly using the highways.
• A 7-day road full road closure took place which required extensive traffic management & a diversion route to be implemented and monitored.
• Re-construction of speed ramps and tables finished in HRA with 50/50 mix of mid-grey and light-grey coloured chippings.
• 520m carriageway re-surfacing.
• 300m footway re-surfacing.
• Crossing point installation.
• Kerb repairs and replacement.
• Highway drainage length installation on connection.
• Installation of structural drainage liners.
• Swale re-profiling.
• Street light column re-alignment & re-painting.

• The scheme was located on a busy main road, adjacent to a live construction site and business park so it involved a high level of local authority & planning authority liaisons to change the carriageway specifications from blocks to a move durable material.
• The road is used heavily by HGVs and car transporters for access to the business park, so the implementation of road closures and diversions required extensive planning.
• Carriageway re-construction at T-junctions required extensive traffic management.
